Scotland Ukraine Wales - WC Place Decider
World cup spot up for grabs.

Are we still suppose to vote for Ukraine?

Tonight's winners go onto Cardiff to face Wales. Bale expected to take a break from his golf and turn up and play a game of football.

Tonight's winner? a close one to call. Maybe an emotional late gasp win for Ukraine.

Adding to that Sven, Steve Clake was the highest paid No2 Manager in the Premiership when he was with us.

They have two good players in Tierney & Robertson who unfortunately play in the same position.
Plus a couple of decent Premier league players in McGinn & McTominay and fuck all else.
Their big rickets ridden hope Billy Gilmour had an abysmal season at Norwich and was abused by Norwich fans (NORWICH FANS!) for not being any good.

Scotland national pride peaked with a 0-0 against England in the Euros
Havent seen them play recently but their results have fallen off a cliff .... outclassed by Ukraine & knocked out of WC qualification & now smashed by a dismal ROI team who appear to be managed by a simpleton.

Steve Clarke is one of those people who wont be given much leeway & dont get the feeling he is particularly loved.

Gilmore, you do know they are making a big thing about this defeat because it was against Ireland?

A bad week for the Scots. Michael Obafemi's goal and assist for Ireland are worth a watch.

What Pagey said, can't deny Bale a shot in a world cup, has been a bonafide world class operator, and why didn't Yarm ever score headers like that for us?

You're right in that many of the Welsh delight in English defeats, and I did laugh my arse off when you got beat by the Icelandic's, though that was more to do with Hodgson being a clueless manager.

However, I was gutted with the losses to Germany under Venables, as I admired him, and the way he got England to play. Same with the Bobby Robson defeat, again to the Germans. I was outraged as any Englishman when Lampard's over the line goal was not given.

I'm immensely proud that you won in 66, purely because of the West Ham connection.

Also, as a footballing nation we've been pretty shit for decades, so in major tournaments if I hadn't switched my allegiance to England, I would have had no enjoyment. I've also lived in England since I left the Principality in 1978.

The same with cricket. I'm delighted that you beat the Kiwis. I'm not even sure whether Wales even have a cricket team of any note.

Rugby is different. I could never support England and do indeed want them to lose. That's because our countries can compete on a level playing field, despite you lot having a vastly greater pool to choose from.

Football is different though, as the teams we support are so international nowadays. My nephew, who's crossed the Welsh/English border maybe a dozen times in his 30 years, is a Man U supporter, so he want's England to do well (playing Wales aside) as there is more often than not, a Man U player or two in the team.

You are right in that there is still a lot of animosity between our nations in some areas, particularly the north, but that stems from geopolitical history, rather than sport.

{'m Welsh first, but also proud to be British, which England is a part of.

Well Looks like England and Wales should progress from group "B" in the World Cup since the other teams are the U.S. & Iran.

Bale’s had a great career and deserves for it to finish with an appearance at the World Cup. He was different class in his last couple of seasons in the Premier League.

This would apply to every Welsh person I have met, including people I am good mates with. Had someone told me a Welshman was supporting England, I would suspect they may be in the minority.

That said, I haven't met you obviously, you are in a far better position to judge than me so fair enough.

Quite rightly that feeling will be gone for 90 minutes in November. Will certainly be extremely intresting if one or both need a result to get through.

Don't mind Wales getting through , but for football fairness would like to have seen Ukraine given the stone wall penalty. Yet again so much at stake and the officials effect the outcome.

“Be amazed if Bale doesn't retire, bloke looks so disinterested in football nowadays.”

Serious talk of us signing him on a short-term deal til the WC, then him retiring after.
